Incredibly cute bags! The staff were very nice and the store is big with a large selection! I didn’t feel like it was marked up compared to buying somewhere else rather than the actual store. Be aware that there’s no public bathroom and you have to go to Amy’s next door for a bathroom.

First off, the bags are beautiful. The designs are clean, classic, artistically appealing, draw attention and provide a confidence in the carrier. That’s why I started my wife’s collection over a year ago.

Then why the one star? Easy… Quality.

Things I wish I knew 18 months ago.

1) these are not daily bags, they are special occasion bags that require a significant amount of maintenance to keep them from failing. My wife used it as a daily and it started failing 14 months later.

2) they are considered “light wear”, meaning, minimize what you put in them. If the bag is heavy, you’ll want to lighten it up, too much weight will cause the stitching to fail. Consider that in the large tote bags as well.

3) Be gentle with it, it’s not made to be tossed, slung, thrown, or quickly placed. It’s not meant for the mom who has kids and use it as a purse, first aide kit, carrier of important things, and weapon. It probably needs its own cushioned spot in your house, out of the natural sunlight, away from any potential danger or predators.

Buyer beware: These hand bags have a 1 year warranty.

I just spent nearly $500 on a tote and I my wife decided to show me her purse falling apart. When I looked at the tote, same stitching, same craft. Nearly had a heart attack when I noticed she was carrying her laptop and three books that she’s reading. I told her to reconsider what she uses that bag for. I’d like it to last more than 14 months. Don’t take my word for it. See for yourself in the photos of her purse. We purchased it directly from their website.

Per the photos, the top edge is separating, interior stitching has come loose, the bag is tearing, zipper is coming loose, and the base is starting to fail. My wife just ordered a bag more than half of the cost of her Consuela on Amazon with the same warranty.

I was at the Consuelas store in Austin and from the moment I walked in, the staff was very extremely friendly and helpful. And, they offered me champagne and some yummy sweets while I shopped, which made my shopping experience there even better.
Matthew helped with the purchased of my bags and he was so pleasant and professional and provided exemplary customer service. He was great. I loved the layout of the store and how it was so bright and colorful. Overall, it was a very fun shopping experience!!! : )

I have had high end bags but this brand beats them in every way.
Beautiful, unique, extremely durable and they do repairs if something happens to the bag even if it is 5 years old.

WARNING ⚠️ EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF, my mother and I recently made the drive from Corpus Christi to Austin, Texas, to exchange a bag under warranty, due to poor quality and the experience was absolutely dreadful. The customer service representative a young man with glasses brown hair, was rude, loud, and left me feeling disgusted for hours. He repeatedly claimed he was doing my 65-year-old mother a favor by offering store credit for a bag she purchased from the company Consuela. Which was under warranty. When my mother asked a simple question about the credit amount and NEW purchase she just made, he yelled at her, rudely telling her if she wanted her money back because he didn't want to deal with her. As if he did not want our business or to be bothered with us. Why offer a warranty if your company representatives don’t honor or understand it.

I cannot understand how someone with such an horrible attitude is allowed to represent the company on the sales floor. His behavior was truly appalling, and to walk away after yelling at her over a simple question is beyond belief. I was left feeling so unsettled that I decided not to make my own purchase because I was afraid to even interact with him or the rest of the staff who just stared at us. To make matters worse, we overheard him speaking very poorly about previous customers while we were shopping.

This was one of the worst retail experiences I’ve ever had, and I would never recommend anyone go to this store. I know I won’t be returning to this flagship store

Had the absolute best experiences this week in the Consuela store on Guadalupe in Austin. This stop topped my list of must dos while I was in town and I am beyond glad i made it. I went for the first time on Wednesday and got lots of trinkets and a couple of gifts. I was assisted by Madeline who immediately struck me as a gem of a human and also put up with my antics and allowed me to move, try on, and play with all the items I wanted. When I couldn’t decide on a bag, she told me to come back this weekend and said they were having a portion of sales given to a charity event. Sold!

I returned Saturday and met again with Madeline and her peer, Isabel. Madeline immediately recognized me from earlier in week and made me feel beyond welcomed back into the store, like we were long lost friends. I would welcome anyone who was working in Consuela today into my group of friends. You know when you meet people who embody good energy? That’s this group of people. THEY RADIATE JOY. After spending another hour playing with bags, trying on, walking around and enjoying a ranch water (husband) & champagne (me) i left with multiple things and decided on a bag. Isabel & Madeline made everything so much fun! They’re shipping the new bags out to me so I don’t have to fit in suitcase! I cannot wait to experience the excitement of unboxing them bags and loving them all over again. Consuela, you should be beyond proud of your employees and a big extra cudos to Madeline and Isabel.
